Baetis Environmental Services, Inc. is an environmental consulting firm serving government and private clients principally in the Midwest. Baetis was founded in Chicago in 2002 to provide personalized technical support for restoring natural aquatic systems, while contributing to sustainable economic development. The firm’s name, “Baetis”, is taken from the scientific name of a genus of mayflies typically found in clean waters.

Principals
Baetis is an employee-owned and operated corporation.
Linda S. Kagan is the President and Treasurer of Baetis. A licensed attorney since 1980, Ms. Kagan's broad legal experience has familiarized her with the regulations and practices of local, state and federal agencies. Ms. Kagan manages the day-to-day business of Baetis.
David B. Pott is Vice President and Secretary of Baetis, as well as the Principal Environmental Scientist. He has been an aquatic ecologist since 1983 and co-founded Baetis in 2002. Throughout his career, Mr. Pott has led a wide range of environmental management projects in the Midwest and around the world. He has published more than two dozen articles in the scientific literature in the fields of water quality and water resources development.
